‘Antman and the wasp: quantumania’ REVIEW

Antman and the wasp quantomania is the latest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe tasked with continuing the introduction of Johnathan Majors as Kang the conqueror.  So, it is a strong positive job that Majors gives a strong performance as the villain. This iteration of Kang is an unstable and egotistical genius from the future boasting both physical and technological advancement. This allows for a small hint toward the danger he can pose the protagonists throughout this phase of the franchise. But is not enough to thrill, after all in the end Kang is bested by Antman, is he really an ‘Avengers level threat’?

Further Scott Lang played by Paul Rudd and Hope Van dyne played by Evangeline Lily both return and remain likeable underdogs in a world filled with Superheroes, Gods and Monsters.

Antman is a simple superhero flick within the MCU. At this stage, post Avengers: Endgame, Marvel studios is certainly a little bit lost and scrambling for narrative cohesion.

Featuring a world that is mostly underwhelming CGI, a story lacking on its own yet fails to be relevant to a wider universe and MCU exhaustion becoming ever more present, Ant-man is just fine. Give it a watch so that you know what’s happening with this storyline if you like marvel, otherwise I wouldn’t fuss over it.
